About
Tim, is a 1959 model, that being said you might imagine he has values and beliefs engrained that he stands his ground on.. He is as honest and blunt as they come..While his opinion is not always cherished you can count on him to speak his mind..He is very involved in the animal sector and enjoys helping others succeed..All Tim's opinion of course.;-)) Please enjoy and remember that we are in this for the fasination and enjoyment that these animals bring us and the friends we make along the way..
We have been involved with herps for as far back as we can remember. Our first pet shop Boa contrictor cost $10 in the early 70's. We started breeding colubrid snakes in the 80's, but quickly grew fond of the boa and python families.
In the 90's we we're focused on Boa constrictor ssp's and locales..We are one of two that captive produced B.C.Nebulosa..Which amounts to attaining knowledge and attention to detail..Thank you, Terry V..
Python brietensteini is said to have hit the U.S. ports in 1989. We aquired our first animals in late 1990, a group from the noteable friend Tom Crutchfield.. In 1993, we hatched our first clutch of 18, which we kept. We continued to purchase more of these animals, and aquired a nice w/c group..Then in 1995, we hatched the first known pattern mutation in Python brietensteini known as the granites. The adults of the granites came from Ray G of Colorado..Between 1993 and 1997, we produced a vast number of these animals to which we hope attributed to many of those seen today.
2012, The "program" here will be to inbreed and or line breed in an attempt to "fix" particular traits..We will keep a close eye on what we do and the results that occur..The group of animals we are working with or have access to (Breeders loan) contain enough diversity that in/line breeding depression is highly unlikely..Having been creaturized all our life we believe we have a good clue as to what to do..
The written data on this species is scanty and often incorrect and outdated..Genetic questions are many and factual answers are few.. However husbandry and reproduction is down pat..With now 14 years experience in the species we are still in amazement with what occurs each year..Hang onto your seats we're out to gain a greater understanding, knowledge and to produce animals we dream of..
To gain knowlege is to gain power..It will take a communial effort and sharing of brain matter to come to a better understanding and knowledge of this creature..Please feel free to donate brain cells when ever possible..;-))
